At the Fields of Gold in Georgetown, you can turn your alien into a responsible farmer, in charge of both the crops and livestock. At the General Store, you can purchase seeds to plant your crops a the Open Fields.

At the Open Fields, you'll find four tracts of land where you can plant your crops and water them afterward. Daily watering will slowly cause your crops to grow. Once your crops have grown enough (usually 75% or more), you can harvest them. Once you harvest your crops, you can sell them at the marketplace or use them to create powder bags at Auntie Hildie's Powder Room.

As for raising livestock, you can "schlep" a cow at the Pasture for 10 motivation and name him/her appropriately. From this point on, you will have to take care of your cow and keep it happy. Watering, feeding, playing with, and also cleaning out the pen will each cost a motivation point. How many studies you have in Farm Skills will reflect how much attention your cow needs. Once the cow is seven days old or more, you can take her to the Leatherworks to be slaughtered. Depending on how healthy you kept the cow, you will receive half of that percentage in leather (so with a 80% healthy cow you receive 40 Leather strips). As with the crops you harvest, leather strips are used at the powder room.

1. Goto Georgetown > The Pit > miner's camp store with 1000 credits ON-HAND.
2. Purchase the bucket w/ rope.
3. Goto the Wishing Well and Get some water.
